Are you still taking your car to the dealer?

There are very specific and important times that you really need to take your car to the dealer. As it ages however, there comes a time when a decision needs to be made. Read what CBS MoneyWatch says by clicking here.

New Dodge Logo... What do you think?

As I was searching for new information to post on the blog I came across this article about a new logo for Dodge vehicles. The trucks will keep the Ram horns and a new double red stripe will slowly take over for the rest. I couldn't quite picture how that would be implemented, even with the picture shown. I see how it works on the Challenger but what about a mini van? The most entertaining part of most articles these days are the comments afterwards. Again I just have to say..."Can't we all just get along?"

GM Shows a Profit

It shouldn't be any secret that rightnowautoparts.com has a vested interest in the success of GM. We are one of the largest suppliers of ACDelco parts in the country, and I for one am proud of the changes the company has made. As you read about the progress being made, please keep in mind that a large company like GM takes some time to turn around. Also remember that these changes will get traction and begin to impact profit in a profound manner as the economy improves. When the GM IPO is finally opened to the public we can all breathe a sigh of relief that the Federal Government will finally be out of the car business. If the tax payers turn a profit on the rescue then that will be even better!

When this GM car ad was filmed we had been selling parts for over 20 years.

Hey my first car was an Apollo, but it didn't have 750 HP!

When I began driving in 1979 my very first car was a 1973 Buick Apollo. Most people have never even seen one but it was basically a Nova with a few more luxuries like air conditioning. Thus began a long line of junkers that have taught me all about auto parts. At one point or another in my life I have had to replace almost every type of part available. First hand knowledge always helps. I believe I would have preferred this one ...

Can't we all just get along?

Apparently there is a bit of outspoken controversy between a lead corvette engineer and a magazine that published items from an interview that he later regretted. Either way, I would love to see this car on the road... even it it does come with a "GASP" six cylinder engine. When it does come out... we will have all the OE parts you need.

Tesla Thrashed by Electric VW Bug

Quarter mile in 11.24 seconds at 114 MPH. Zero to 60 in 3 seconds. Somehow, I prefer the sound of combustion engines ...

2011 Pontiac Trans Am

While GM is planning to close down the Pontiac nameplate at the end of this year, there are still people hoping to see a rebirth of one of their most famous cars. I am a fan of the concept car process that begins with designers creating something that everyone would love to buy, then selling the manufacturer on the idea if the interest is high enough. ASC is one such design firm that has worked with GM in the past to design upgraded packages for vehicles. Here are a couple of tempting shots for those die-hard Trans Am enthusiasts. Who knows... maybe there is still hope.

Corvette Heaven

This guy gets to the Pearly Gates, and Saint Peter says, "Now wait just a moment, before I let you in, I need to ask you, have you ever done anything to put others first, or defended the weak or innocent, things like that?"

The man answers, "why yes, I saw this man with a Corvette by the side of the road, and he was yelling at his wife, and threatening her, so I walked up to him and screamed at him to leave her alone, and if he didn't I'd kick his head like this.... and I kicked a huge place on his driver's door on that Corvette".

Saint Peter answers, "Wow, that's pretty good, when did you do that?"

The man answers, "Oh, about 4 minutes ago".
