There is a long tradition of maniacs that constantly push the envelope of land and speed records. Follow this link to a story from Autopia.com about a team that is looking to break 1000MPH ON LAND (That's less than a 5 second mile). Let's hope somebody's cat doesn't decide to run out in front of them because I don't think swerving would be good. Like I have been saying for a long time...
