Old People Fun...

What Economy?

In today's world where everyone is killing themselves to gain pennies in efficiency gains to keep things afloat... we have this team of people building a life size New Ford Explorer out of Legos. I am imagining the ad agency pitch, the budget, and the sub-contracting call for LEGO specialists. Now imagine their business cards... Thermo-Injection Catalyst Architectural Engineer?

Muscle Cars Live!

It's good to know that Muscle Cars have not been sent to the grave yard by our recent financial crisis and oil prices. While it might not be the best practice to drive the wheels off of cars like the one in this video, it is still good to know they are there for those of us who love them.

Ferrari Through The Years

Ferrari F1 - Awesome video clips here

We don't sell auto parts for Ferrari's, but honestly how can you be a gearhead without at least some level of respect for the history. Although the video is actually a commercial for gasoline, I still found it entertaining. Listen to the evolution in the rev speed of the engine. I personally prefer the low rumble, but there are those who thrill to the high pitched menace of the modern F1 engines... it just makes me wince.

Sunday Drive with Mom

My last post was about the fear of heights, so I wanted to get us back on track (hehe) with this video of a sadistic guy who takes his mother to the track with him, and video tapes her reactions. I guess any time spent with your Mom is good, and this one trick could be used as a threat to get her off of your back for years. "Mom... should I get the keys again?"

P.S. What is it about road racers that thrive on the reactions of newbies the first time around the track?

Car Photography

The auto parts industry would probably prove to be very tenuous if it weren't for the idea that we are working to prolong the life of those that we really love... Our cars. There is a very high prevalence of car lovers in our business. From the people who love to tinker and repair cars, to those who worship their vehicle as a work of art. Auto parts are a cog in the machine of an industry that pays homage to the vehicle. It is a love/hate relationship where we name our cars after old girl friends and then when they betray us we cast them away in much the same manner. At the same time there remains a lingering memory of the good times shared, and over time a diminishment of those that were bad.

Take some advice from this article and spend a little time documenting that vehicle you are currently enamored of. For now it is your obsession, later it will be your bane, but take the time and get a good photograph now so you can look back when everything but fond memories have dissipated.

Pikes Peak Ride Along

I have mentioned RNAP executive Randy Kulamer here before and his penchant for racing. I have even posted footage of a race he was in at Road Atlanta last year. While I have always worried about what would happen if he wrecked, I guess I never really realized how tame running around a track was. Throw in thousand foot drop offs and finally there is something that only a truly insane person would do.

I went on vacation in Colorado a few years ago and took a dirt switchback road up through the Rocky Mountain National Park and can tell you I was almost paralyzed with fear on a few of the turns where I couldn't see the side of the road but could see the valley waaaaaaay down below. It looked as though it would take an hour and a half to hit the ground should I run off the very loose gravel escarpment. Let's just say I was going slower than these guys.

Coupon Code 6TWIT7

This blog, believe it or not, is designed to help sell more auto parts. While I enjoy sharing automotive related stories and How-To type articles with our customers... at the end of the day, if I am not helping to sell more auto parts, I am not very valuable to my company. With that being said I am occasionally given extra tools to entice customers to buy, TODAY.

I have one of those incentives for you that will be good for the next couple of days. During the checkout process you will see a coupon code box, use the coupon code 6TWIT7 and it will apply an additional 10% off of your already wholesale price. By using the code we can show my bosses the value of advertizing on blogs, Twitter and Facebook; and also prove that I am not just surfing the internet all day. (Well I am.... let's just show that it pays off!

Discount code good until the end of June.... 6TWIT7 .

Working on Your Own Car

With the economy the way it is these days, many people are doing everything they can to save money. One of the things we can help with here at Rightnowautoparts.com is by providing real, dealership quality OE auto parts at wholesale pricing. Especially if you are working on an American car, we are your source for GM parts, ACDelco Parts, Ford parts and Motorcraft parts.

It should go without saying, but we always suggest that if you want your car repaired right the very first time, it is best to replace auto parts with the exact same auto parts that came on the car. It just isn't really a money saver if you get the parts for a few percentage points less, but then have to replace them shortly thereafter because the dependability wasn't there. You can be confident that the auto parts you buy from us would be the exact same ones you would get over the parts counter at your local Ford or GM dealership... you will just be saving a ton of money on the purchase price.

Speaking of savings, from now until the end of June you can save an additional 10%, on top of our already wholesale pricing, by using the coupon code 6twit7 during checkout. We are all in this thing together and anything we can do to help we are. Thanks for being such great customers!
