Who Makes ACDelco Fuel Sending Units?

I would love to give you a simple answer, but fuel pumps are not really that easy to deal with. First off, the ACDelco fuel pump you would buy from us would be the same unit that would be installed should you decide to take it to the dealership. The manufacturer of the pump in the ACDelco box could be a little more complicated. Delphi had been for years the actual OE manufacturer of fuel pumps for GM / ACDelco. Since their bankruptcy there could be others, depending on the vehicle. Supplying us with your VIN number will make sure we get you the correct part number.

Another thing that confuses the issue is that GM engineers are constantly updating issues with fuel pumps and have changed most part numbers several times, including the connectors (which will almost always need to be spliced). I can tell you that my parts experts can get you the correct unit (we suggest the complete fuel sending units) and that it will be guaranteed for 12 months and 12K miles.

Finally, I am not sure how the climate in your area plays into this scenario but it is a long held understanding among mechanics that waiting until the fuel tank is very low before refilling causes issues. It has something to due with temperature build up of the unit and then the cold fuel pumped from underground. The extreme difference eventually causes issues. It's just a suggestion going forward, but it's best to always refill before you go below 1/4 tank.

Please supply us with your VIN # and we will get you the right part number so you can check our price and others... and I would suggest always replacing fuel pumps and fuel sending units with Original Equipment.

Thanks !!
Brad

P.S. Almost all ACDelco fuel sending units now come in brown boxes with Delco labels. In the past they were all in red, white and blue boxes but GM has changed the packaging.
